Dorset Family History Society, a member of the Federation of Family History Societies, is for people who are interested in tracing their family history, beginners or experts. Dorset FHS caters for people in the UK or overseas with family interests in Dorset, as well as Dorset residents whose families may have lived in other counties or countries.
Belonging to a family history society can be a great help in finding out how to trace your ancestors and meeting other people with similar interests. Even if you have already traced your family tree for quite a way back, a local family history society will provide interesting meetings with a range of talks on subjects that you will find useful.
A varied programme featuring expert speakers has been arranged for the year (see Programme).
Meetings are on the second Monday in each month except August and they are held at:
St John's Church Hall,
Ashley Road,
Parkstone,
Poole, Dorset
8.00pm Start
This address is for Meetings only.
All enquiries should be made to the Treetops Research Centre during opening times.
A Computer Club also meets on the first Tuesday in most months at Treetops.
