Please note the starting times, otherwise the arrangements are as usual with a comfort stop at Fleet on the way up and Winchester on the way back.
The trip to the British Library/LMA on 17th May is undersubscribed. As it stands at present we will all be able to spread out and the society will make a loss. Not so long ago most trips had a waiting list, please remember that not all information is "on line", it really is a matter of "use it or lose it", with coach trips. It is not necessary to go to the repositories mentioned. The SoG, Post Office Archives and Probate Office are only a short walk from the LMA. The British Newspaper Library at Collingdale is a tube ride from the British Library. It is always possible to just have "a day out".
Coach Prices: DFHS members £14.00, non-members £16.00
Note: Membership includes immediate family and other members of your family, who pay 'member' rates rather than 'visitor' charges.
NB Although TNA allow access to filmed or fiched documents and use of computers without a reader’s ticket, a ticket is always required to look at original documents. The British Library & the LMA also require readers’ tickets. Please have two forms of identity - one with your address and one with your signature, or you will not be able to access the Documents Reading Room at TNA or do any research at the British Library or LMA.
Bookings:To book a place on one of our Coach Trips, please print off a copy of the Application Form, complete and send it with your remittance and an SAE to Treetops Research Centre. Tickets are also available at Treetops and meetings.
